Test results

All patients’ records on file or on the computer are confidential.

In order to maintain confidentiality, laboratory results and x-ray results will only be given to patients themselves or to parents of minors if appropriate.

When enquiring about a result, please telephone after 11.00am when it is quieter. Information from patients’ records may be passed between health service professionals if this is essential for patient care and anonymous data may be passed to the Primary Care Trust for statistical purposes. Patients have a right to look at their own records.

When you take your test you will be told how long it will take before the results are returned to the practice.  To obtain your results, please telephone the surgery on 024 76614255 anytime after 11am.  Please be prepared to identify yourself, saying what the test was and when it was carried out.

We cannot always give full results over the phone. If the result requires further discussion, we will offer you an appointment. Due to our confidentiality and data protection policies, we will only give results to the person who has had the test.
